The shipping company Hansa Destinations
The line has received government support (eco-bonus) in the start-up phase to reduce Sweden's greenhouse gas emissions. Hansa Destinations is the largest project to receive eco-bonus support to meet Sweden's climate targets.
Through the investment, Rederi AB Gotland and Hansa Destinations will enable the shift of cargo from land to sea transport, which is expected to reduce emissions by at least 20 percent. In addition, the new line offers carriers a cost-effective transportation alternative that increases both flexibility and efficiency. Since truck drivers can have their rest time on board the ship, drivers have the opportunity to drive longer distances directly upon arrival in Rostock or Nynäshamn.
