The ferry port on the island of Mykonos offers connections to the 23 other Greek islands of Koufonissi, Thira, Ikaria, Syros, Ios, Amorgos, Naxos, Andros, Sifnos, Tinos, Chios, Limnos, Folegandros, Paros, Lesbos, Milos, Samos, Serifos, Crete, Fournoi, Sikinos, Anafi and Thirasia as well as to the ports of Rafina, Thessaloniki, Piraeus and Kavala on the Greek mainland. A total of 30 routes are offered several times a day by the shipping companies Hellenic Seaways, Blue Star Ferries, Golden Star Ferries, Cyclades Fast Ferries, SeaJets and SAOS Ferries.

The Cyclades island of Mykonos is centrally located in the Aegean Sea, between the Peloponnese and the Turkish mainland. The regional district of Mykonos also includes Delos and the uninhabited island of Rinia. Mykonos has a good 10,000 inhabitants. Here too, the capital, located in the west, bears the name of the island, which is particularly popular with tourists.
