Karlshamn Port Information
Karlshamn is located in the Swedish province of Blekinge on the Baltic Sea. The town was founded in the 17th century and still plays an important role as a port and trading center. Visitors are attracted by the well-preserved old town with its traditional Swedish wooden houses and narrow streets. The main attractions include the Karlshamns Museum, which showcases local history and culture, and the Kulturhuset, a creative arts center in an imposing old warehouse. The city park with its sculptures and views of the harbor is another highlight. For nature lovers, the surrounding archipelago with its many small islands and boat trips offers a special attraction.
Getting to the ferry port
Karlshamn ferry port is located on the western outskirts of the city, about 3 km from the city center.
- By car: Getting here by car is easy. Karlshamn is easy to reach via the European route E22, which runs along the east coast of southern Sweden. There are plenty of parking facilities for short and long-term parking at the harbor.
- By plane: The nearest airport is Ronneby, approx. 30 km northwest of Karlshamn with several daily flights to Stockholm. The nearest international airport is Copenhagen, approx. 150 km away, from where there are direct train connections to Karlshamn. The train journey takes approx. 2 hours.
- Public transportation: Karlshamn is well connected to the Swedish railroad network. Unfortunately, there is no direct bus connection to the ferry terminal. If you don't want to walk, you should take a cab.
