Hirtshals Port Information
Hirtshals is a Danish port town in the northwest of Jutland and has been part of Hjørring Municipality since the municipal reform in 2007. The town has an area of 88 km² and a population of approx. 5,500. The port of Hirtshals, located between Jammer Bay and Tannis Bay, was built between 1919 and 1930 and was the first Danish port with direct access to the open North Sea. Today it is run by local authorities and is an important fishing and ferry port. With a quay length of 4.7 kilometers and an area of around 1.1 million square meters, the port offers extensive capacity for fishing, trade and ferry traffic. The port serves as an important hub for connections to Norway, the Faroe Islands and Iceland and plays a key role in Northern Europe's transportation and logistics network.
