Corfu Port Information
Corfu is the second largest Greek island in the Ionian Sea after Kefalonia. This island is located in the far west of Greece and is in close contact with Brindisi in southern Italy thanks to the busy ferry service. In the northeast, the island is separated from the Albanian mainland by barely two kilometers. As Corfu has a particularly mild climate, it is also known as the "green island". Economically, Corfu is considered one of the most prosperous regions in Greece.
The port city of Corfu, located on the east coast, where most ferries arrive and depart, is also known as Kerkyra and its 100,000 inhabitants are called Corfiots. In addition to beautiful beaches, the island offers many city and temple ruins, museums and resorts.
