The shipping company was opened in 1941 in the Canary Islands capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The founder, Antonio Armas Curbelo, initially specialized the company in the pure transport of goods and due to the good business, especially with the transport of salt, the shipping company expanded and renewed its fleet several times within a short period of time. Over the decades, the company has operated more than 50 different ships, making it one of the largest shipping companies in the Canary Islands.
Since then, the shipping company has mainly operated routes between the islands in the region. However, it also calls at other ports around Spain and North Africa. The most important destinations include Tenerife, Granada, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. In the past, there have even been connections to Madeira, Portugal, Morocco and the coasts of Western Sahara.
A drastic change in business policy took place in 1995, when the company began transporting passengers. Since then, a total of nine ships have been calling at all the important ports in the region, often several times a day.
On board the ultra-modern ferries, guests' every wish is catered for. From a visit to the restaurant to an extended shopping tour to relaxing by the outdoor pool, there is something for everyone. Children's entertainment is also catered for with a spacious play area, as the company is particularly keen to appeal to families. Last but not least, business travelers are not neglected either. With free Wi-Fi on board and dedicated quiet areas, you can relax and catch up on work while on the move or simply enjoy the peace and quiet and the view.
