The ferry port on the island of Mykonos offers connections to the 25 other Greek islands of Paros, Anafi, Amorgos, Koufonissi, Samos, Mykonos, Fournoi, Folegandros, Serifos, Thira, Syros, Crete, Naxos, Tinos, Euboea, Limnos, Thirasia, Chios, Lesbos, Sikinos, Ios, Ikaria, Milos, Andros and Sifnos as well as to the ports of Thessaloniki, Piraeus, Kavala and Rafina on the Greek mainland. A total of 35 routes are offered several times a week by the shipping companies SeaJets, SAOS Ferries, Hellenic Seaways, Blue Star Ferries, Golden Star Ferries and Cyclades Fast Ferries.

The Cyclades island of Mykonos is centrally located in the Aegean Sea, between the Peloponnese and the Turkish mainland. The regional district of Mykonos also includes Delos and the uninhabited island of Rinia. Mykonos has a good 10,000 inhabitants. Here too, the capital, located in the west, bears the name of the island, which is particularly popular with tourists.
