Milazzo was founded in 716 BC by settlers from Zankle, today's Messina. Over the centuries, Milazzo has been the scene of numerous battles, including the naval battle of Mylae in 260 BC, in which the Romans fought against Carthage.

- Milazzo Castle: This imposing building dominates the town and offers a breathtaking view of the Aeolian Islands. Its origins date back to the Neolithic period and was later extended and modified by various civilizations such as the Greeks, Romans and Arabs.
- Borgo Antico: The historic center of the town with the 15th century San Francesco di Paola pilgrimage church, which was restored in the 18th century.
- Piscina di Venere nature reserve: picturesque area that is particularly interesting for divers due to its crystal-clear water.
- Corso Garibaldi: lively beach promenade with numerous stores, bars and restaurants.
