The Mediterranean island of Lampedusa is part of the municipality of Lampedusa e Linosa and is geographically located between Sicily and Tunisia. Lampedusa is the southernmost island in Italy and also the largest Pelagian island. The island is an international topic of conversation, not least because of the refugee crisis.
