The 55 km² island in the Western Cyclades group still offers rather spartan tourism at the beginning of the 2020s. However, you can really feel the authentic atmosphere and enjoy the hospitality of the islanders to the full. The population of just under a thousand is spread over half a dozen villages and settlements. The island is of volcanic origin and therefore rich in minerals. For you as a vacationer, the main village of Chorio Kimolou, including a former fortress village, is of tourist interest - as are the ruins of ancient tombs on the southwest coast near Elinika beach.
