The island of Giglio is located in the Mediterranean and belongs to the Tuscan province of Grosseto. Together with the neighboring island of Giannutri, it forms the Italian municipality of Isola dei Giglio. Visitors can reach Giglio by ferry from Santo Stefano or by hydrofoil. The island gained tragic fame in 2012 due to the Costa Concordia shipwreck, which claimed the lives of 32 people. Tourists still encounter untouched natural landscapes to this day. Extensive beaches, romantic bays and crystal-clear water: the island knows how to spoil its visitors. The rich variety of fish can be explored by snorkeling or diving.
