Eckerö is a municipality on the Åland Islands, the westernmost region of Finland. The municipality has just under 1,000 inhabitants and is located approx. 35 km from Mariehamn, the capital of the Åland Islands. The port of Eckerö, known as Berghamn, is located in the Storby district and is a central hub for ferry traffic between Åland and Sweden. The ferry company Eckerö Linjen offers daily connections to Grisslehamn in Sweden.
