The Condor 1 was the first Condor Ferries ferry to enter service on the route between Jersey and St. Malo on June 20, 1964. It was a hydrofoil that could carry 140 passengers at a speed of 33 knots. The founding idea of operating high-speed ferries between England, the Channel Islands and France was a success, and numerous other high-speed ferries followed in the service of Condor Ferries over the next few decades.
The fleet currently comprises three passenger ferries. The latest addition is the Condor Liberation, a high-speed trimaran that can carry up to 880 passengers and 245 cars at a speed of 39 knots (72 km/h). On board, guests can expect a modern and appealing design as well as comfortable facilities. These include two cafés, a restaurant, WLAN, a duty-free store, a children's area and an optional steward service.
The fastest Condor Ferries ship is the Condor Rapide with a top speed of 48 knots (89 km/h). The catamaran can carry up to 741 passengers and 175 cars. As on all of the company's ferries, comfort and convenience are a top priority on board the Condor Rapide. A café and a bistro cater for passengers' physical well-being, there is a separate area for children and, of course, duty-free shopping is also available.
Finally, the conventional passenger ferry Commodore Clipper is in service for Condor Ferries. It can transport 300 passengers and 100 cars. A brasserie, a café and a children's area ensure a pleasant stay on board.
Over one million passengers and 200,000 vehicles travel with Condor Ferries every year.
