The northernmost and second largest island of the Cyclades is Andros. Despite having around 10,000 inhabitants, it is not as popular with tourists as some of the other islands in the area. This is despite the fact that many things are different here. For example, the vegetation is more lush and the villages are very well-kept and "spruced up". This is primarily due to the wealth of the shipping families who live on this island and ensure that nothing falls into disrepair here. As a tourist, you have the opportunity to go on numerous hikes or take advantage of one of the many water sports on offer.
